A Data Protection Officer (DPO) and an EU Representative perform very different, but important, roles.

A DPO works to ensure your business is compliant with the GDPR. They often work and communicate with the public and are invaluable to teams who process lots of personal data. A DPO could act as your EU Representative, but this is not recommended.

This is due to a possible conflict of interests within the role and the workload this dual-role would cause. It will be far simpler and effective for a business to separate these roles to ensure not only having a strong DPO lead but also secure EU representation.

At Optindigo, we will be your EU Representative and ensure all requests from data subjects and regulators are processed promptly so you meet your obligations. You can set-up your European Representation agreement within five minutes
