There is lots of discussion about what GDPR compliance actually means. There is no absolute set of measures that can be used to decide when a company is compliant. One thing is for sure however. Simply registering on the ICO web site does NOT make you GDPR compliant.

I can sort of see why some companies might just complete a Privacy Statement and then think they are done, or even just steal a privacy statement from another site and use on their own. This is of course woefully inadequate and really doesn’t help at all.

So, for the avoidance of doubt, registering with the ICO does not make you GDPR compliant, going on a course also does not make you compliant, and stealing a privacy policy doesn’t give you a GDPR badge either.

GDPR is unfortunately much more involved and there is a considerable amount of work to be done but never fear. GDPR is complicated but not impossible and we can help. If you have setup an account on Optindigo you have access to a Strategy document, GDPR plan, and a GDPR task list showing what you need to do.

Start there. Call us if you need any help.

Good luck all!
